Isca Recruitment is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a highly successful accountancy practice on the outskirts of Exeter in the position of Bookkeeper – Team Leader.  This is an opportunity for a Bookkeeper looking to develop their career within a very welcoming team in a forward-thinking firm.

Bookkeeper – Team Leader | The Role:

Reporting to the Partners, you will be working as part of the business services team with full responsibility for leading and developing the outsourced services provided by the firm.

• Supervising a small team, developing and mentoring staff
• Allocating and reviewing work, providing guidance as needed.
• Responsible for a portfolio of clients including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders:
  • Undertaking weekly, monthly and quarterly bookkeeping using Xero
  • Producing management accounts and relevant financial management reports
  • VAT returns
  • Maintaining and analysing sales and purchase ledgers
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Resolving bookkeeping queries, discrepancies and irregularities
  • Liaising with clients and working onsite at clients as necessary

Bookkeeper – Team Leader | The Person:

• The successful candidate will have recent experience working as a Bookkeeper, in a practice environment and be seeking progression to a management position.
• Whilst a formal qualification such as AAT would be beneficial, experience and positive attitude are essential!
• Strong communication skills with an engaging approach, comfortable liaising with colleagues and clients.
• IT literate with experience using accountancy software, eg, Sage, Xero etc.

Location:  In office, outskirts of Exeter
