An HR Officer is needed to join an established and growing multi-site business at their office on the outskirts of Exeter. This is a newly created role and a rare opportunity for a proactive HR professional to join a fast paced, entrepreneurial business leading the way in its sector.

 

HR Officer – The Role:

This is a business-critical role where you will be responsible for aspects of the HR function, working closely with the Group HR Manager.  Duties will include:

 

  • Supporting the Group HR Manager in delivering the business’s operational and people strategy and objectives.
  • Work closely with managers to deliver a great employee lifecycle experience for staff from application to retirement, providing guidance, advice, coaching and hands on support.
  • Taking ownership for all day-to-day HR admin including starters, leavers, holiday and sickness admin, recruitment process, contracts, references etc; ensuring complete and accurate personnel records.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries from employees and providing advice on all Employee Relations matters.
  • Ensuring HR cases are handled fairly and inline with legislation and company policies, escalating complex cases to the Group HR Manager
  • Supporting the business with change management and contributing to HR projects e.g. policy reviews, process improvements
  • Actively champion correct use of the HR system and automation features, proactively identifying and resolving any systems issues.
  • Supporting the payroll processes and liaising with finance colleagues.
  • Assisting with HR reports, data analysis and operational planning.

 

HR Officer – The Rewards:

Salary : £35-38k DOE

Hours: Mon – Fri, 40hrs per week

Location: In office

 

HR Officer – The Person:

  • We are keen to hear from experienced HR practitioners keen to work in a growing, dynamic business,
  • You will have practical experience of providing first line advice to operational managers, backed up with current employment law and HR best practice knowledge.
  • You will be a self-starter with excellent organisation and accuracy with the ability to prioritise your work.
  • You’ll be a first-rate communicator who is able to build relationships across all levels of the business; inspiring, influencing and empowering others to achieve.
  • CIPD Level 3 or CIPD Level 5 qualification is desirable, however we welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience who are working towards qualification.
